This is a proof of origin issued by the Veneto Region in accordance with Law 70 of 23 December 1994. It certifies that the products have been made on the island of Murano, according to the glassmaking tradition. It is managed by the Consorzio Promovetro.
To protect the image of Murano glass and also to guarantee to the customer the origin of the product and that it has been made using traditional artistic methods born and developed for over a thousand years on the island of Murano.
The security that the product is made of real Murano glass, made on the island of Murano, according to the glassmaking tradition.
Only companies producing artistic glass on the island of Murano can apply for trademark registration with the Veneto Region: if granted, they become a “concessionaire company” of the Vetro Artistico® Murano brand.
The dealer companies apply a special anti-counterfeiting self-adhesive label to their products. It is made with various security and traceability elements, to guarantee without any doubt the origin of the product.
The label bears the brand logo and can be made in red and gold or blue and gold depending on the different glass manufacturing techniques. On the upper part is the code of the concessionary company. Since 2016, the sticker has featured a serial number and a datamatrix code that unambiguously identify the product and constitute its “identity card”.
